How HammerNest service terms work.

These website terms explain the request, estimate, scheduling, payment, scope, and project-document process. They are written as an overview and should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before final launch.

Effective date: July 13, 2026

01

Acceptance and project documents

Using this website or submitting a repair request means you agree to these website terms. These terms explain the online request process, but they do not replace a project-specific written estimate, contract, work order, change order, invoice, or consumer notice. If a project document conflicts with these website terms, the signed project document controls for that project.

02

Requests are not accepted work

Submitting a form, photo, text, email, or voicemail starts a review. It does not require HammerNest to accept the project, reserve a schedule opening, begin work, or provide a final price. HammerNest may decline work that is outside scope, outside the service area, unsafe, unavailable, or better suited to a licensed specialist.

03

Estimates and final pricing

Website descriptions, photos, and early conversations help form an initial review. Final pricing depends on the confirmed scope, access, materials, timing, and visible or hidden conditions. Work should not begin until scope, pricing, scheduling, and any required written work order or contract are confirmed.

04

Scope and change orders

Only the work described in the confirmed estimate, work order, or contract is included. Additional tasks, changed materials, hidden conditions, customer-requested changes, or expanded scope may require a revised price, written approval, and a new schedule conversation before the extra work proceeds.

05

Materials and customer products

Some projects use common repair materials; others depend on customer-supplied fixtures, parts, furniture, hardware, or specialty items. Customer-supplied products must be complete, undamaged, compatible, and available at the property. Missing parts, defective products, discontinued materials, mismatched finishes, or unexpected conditions may change the scope, timing, or price.

06

Scheduling, access, and cancellations

Scheduling depends on service-area fit, route, project size, weather, materials, and current availability. The customer is responsible for accurate property information, safe access, parking, pets, utilities, tenant coordination, and on-site contact details. Missed access, late cancellations, blocked work areas, or unsafe conditions may delay the project or result in applicable charges described in the project document.

07

Payments, deposits, and overdue balances

Payment terms, deposits, material charges, refund eligibility, and due dates should be stated in the estimate, invoice, contract, or work order for the project. Deposits or material purchases may be nonrefundable when materials are ordered or time has been reserved. Overdue balances may pause further work and may be handled through lawful collection steps.

08

Permits, codes, and specialists

Some work requires permits, inspections, licensed trades, utility coordination, or a different contractor. HammerNest may decline, pause, or refer work when electrical, plumbing, HVAC, gas, roofing, structural, code-heavy, hazardous, or permit-dependent conditions appear outside handyman scope. The required approach may vary by state, county, municipality, property type, and project details.

09

Written contracts and consumer notices

For applicable Illinois home repair or remodeling work over $1,000, a signed written contract or work order and the required consumer-rights pamphlet may be required before work begins. Wisconsin home-improvement rules may require written contract details, warranty information, permit handling, delay notices, and notice of the right to request lien waivers. Project documents should be reviewed for the property location and legally required notices.

10

Workmanship and warranty limits

Any workmanship promise, warranty period, callback process, manufacturer warranty, or exclusion should be stated in the project document. Unless separately confirmed in writing, warranties do not cover pre-existing damage, hidden or concealed conditions, customer-supplied defective products, misuse, normal wear, unrelated failures, weather events, movement of existing materials, or work changed by someone else.

11

Existing damage and liability limits

Photos and initial review cannot reveal every concealed defect, moisture issue, damaged framing, unsafe wiring, weak mounting surface, pest damage, prior poor repair, or code problem. To the extent allowed by law, HammerNest is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, or unrelated losses, and responsibility for a project should be limited by the confirmed project documents and applicable law.

12

Customer responsibilities

Customers should provide accurate information, disclose known hazards, identify utilities and shutoffs when relevant, keep children and pets away from the work area, clear personal property, provide reasonable workspace, and avoid asking for work that violates law, codes, leases, HOA rules, manufacturer instructions, or safety requirements.

13

Law, disputes, updates, and contact

These website terms are intended for HammerNest service requests in the areas shown on the site and are governed by applicable law for the property and business relationship. These website terms do not add a binding arbitration clause or jury waiver. Any dispute process, if ever used, should appear in a project-specific document and satisfy applicable law. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest should remain in effect. Terms may be updated when the site or business process changes. Questions can be sent through the contact page.

Service term questions.

Answers about estimates, written work orders, changes, payment, specialist work, and repair photos.

Are website requests the same as a signed work order?

No. Submitting a request starts review. Confirmed projects should use the appropriate written estimate, contract, invoice, or work order for the scope.

Are online estimates final pricing?

Final pricing and scheduling are confirmed before work begins and may depend on access, materials, hidden conditions, and final scope.

What if the work changes after it starts?

Additional tasks, changed materials, or unexpected conditions may require a revised price, written approval, and a new schedule conversation.

What if the work requires a licensed specialist?

If a request requires a licensed specialist, permit, or trade contractor, HammerNest should say so clearly before scheduling handyman work.

Why should I send photos?

Photos and notes help clarify visible conditions before scheduling and reduce avoidable back-and-forth. They do not reveal every hidden issue.

Do these terms replace a project contract?

No. A project-specific contract, work order, estimate, invoice, or required consumer notice controls the details for that project.
